Photographer Submission Guidelines
How To Submit Your Fine Art Photography to Printscapes.com
Step 1. General Information
Overview
We're not your typical art gallery...
PRINTSCAPES.com is looking for talented new artists
and photographers to contribute to our growing image collection.
PRINTSCAPES.com is a full service fine art resource offering
a selection of print-on-demand framed fine art prints and
canvas giclees. Our clients can select from over 20,000
open edition photographs, paintings, mixed media and vintage
art pieces produced by some of the world's finest photographers
and artists. Our subject matter offers, but is not limited
to, an in-depth selection of imagery from throughout Hawaii
as well as from around the Pacific Rim and beyond.
All images that PRINTSCAPES.com accepts into its
collection will also be available for commercial sale and
usage through Pacific
Stock. All accepted images will be viewable
on both PRINTSCAPES.com and PacificStock.com, as well as
on the websites of our North American and international
affiliates in 50 countries worldwide. PRINTSCAPES.com is
an industry partner of ASID (American Society of Interior
Designers), and specifically markets to professional interior
designers, architects and builders. We take pride in offering
superior quality custom printing and framing of our artwork.
Our master printmaker and team of experts are recognized
leaders in the industry with over 40 years of experience.
Printscapes.com only accepts DIGITAL images produced
from professional-level digital SLR cameras or professional-level
transparency scans. Submissions in transparency
form, physical artworks, photo prints and other art/photograph
in physical form will not be accepted. If your images are
not in digital format, there are a few ways you can transfer
your work. Because the imagery we supply on this website
is primarily for wall décor sale and usage, all accepted
images should reflect a rich gallery-style quality. Submitted
digital images will be reviewed for quality and content.
If you are interested in submitting your artwork to Printscapes.com,
please continue reading through these guidelines carefully.
Step 2. Sample Submission Review
Contributor Application
Complete our Contributor Application before
submitting images.
Enter only correct and up-to-date information for yourself.
Content Review
Email a link to your personal website
showcasing your art/photography.
If you do not have a website, email 10-15 low res jpeg
images (800 pixels x 600 pixels at 72dpi).
After initial review of your images, we will contact you
if we are interested in your work for PRINTSCAPES.com.
Quality Review
Upon content acceptance, we will ask you to send
up to 10 High Resolution images as a quality representation
of your work; quality review submissions must be sent in
TIFF format on DVD to Printscapes.com/Pacific Stock. DO
NOT EMAIL HIGH-RES SUBMISSIONS. FTP submissions can be arranged
upon request. See Digital Image Requirements
below for the Printscapes.com's submission standards.
Upon approval of the image quality, we will contact you
to request a full submission of high resolution images.
Step 3. Submission of Accepted
Images
Building a Collection
After Content and Quality Reviews have been cleared,
PRINTSCAPES.com requires a minimum submission of 50 to 500
CAREFULLY EDITED, high quality digital images. The amount
of images required depends on subject matter, and what we
feel is needed to complete strong collections of imagery;
in the same way, we may accept less than 50 images if we
feel the submission works well as a smaller series or collection.
We strongly encourage continued submissions of new work
in order to keep our image library fresh. We are happy to
provide you with our regular wantlists with ideas of what
our clients are requesting.
In order to eliminate unnecessary work
(such as scanning, digital retouching, etc.), you may
opt to submit low-resolution images for selection before
submitting in high resolution format. We will email you
a contact sheet of our selections for you to scan, edit,
and return to us in high-resolution.
All high-resolution images must be optimized according to
our specifications - see Digital Image
Requirements below. High resolution images should be
submitted on CD, DVD and mailed directly to:
Printscapes.com / Pacific Stock
Attn: Submissions Department
7192 Kalanianaole Hwy, Suite G-240
Honolulu, HI 96825
Printscapes.com does NOT return submitted
CDs, DVDs, or other submitted media to artists/photographers.
You are responsible for making and retaining your own
copies prior to submission!
Contributor Agreement
After your image collection has been approved,
you will receive a copy of the Printscapes.com Contributor
Agreement, which signifies the working contract between
you and Printscapes.com, Pacific Stock and its affiliates.
You will be asked to complete, sign and mail the original
document to Printscapes.com. You are responsible for retaining
copies for your personal records. This document MUST be
signed and returned to Printscapes.com before images can
be uploaded to the website(s).
All final selections must be received
by PRINTSCAPES.com/PACIFIC STOCK within 30 days of selection.
If final selections are not returned within the required
time frame, PRINTSCAPES.com/PACIFIC STOCK reserves the
right to reject a submission with a written letter or
email of explanation. If images are not properly formatted
and retouched, Printscapes.com reserves the right to reject
a submission or charge contracted artists/photographers
for our time to edit the submission at $100 per hour,
with a minimum one hour charge.
Step 4: Representation of your
artwork
Should we like your work and feel we can license
it to our customers, the Printscapes.com Contributor Agreement
will be provided to you; this document sets forth our mutual
agreement. The original document is to be completed, signed,
and returned to Printscapes.com. You are responsible to
retain copies for yourself. Contract length is 4 years.
Under the Terms of the Contract, PRINTSCAPES.com/PACIFIC
STOCK negotiates the license of reproduction rights to your
artworks. Almost all rights granted are for one-time use
only. We very rarely extend exclusive rights to an image,
but will notify the artist/photographer if exclusive rights
are licensed.
Our Contract is "image exclusive". All images used in PRINTSCAPES.com
and or PACIFIC STOCK marketing efforts including but not
limited to PRINTSCAPES.com and PRINTSCAPES.com Websites,
Catalogs, Advertising, etc. will be EXCLUSIVE to PRINTSCAPES.com
and PACIFIC STOCK and may not be placed on other similar
companies' Websites, Catalogs, Advertising, etc. You may
place your NON-SIMILAR work with other on-line wall décor
companies and stock photo companies. Artists and photographers
are allowed to market all images submitted to PRINTSCAPES.com/PACIFIC
STOCK on their own personal websites as well as place their
framed prints with "brick and mortar" stores (art galleries,
etc.).
Our North American and International Affiliate Agencies
will also be marketing all images submitted to them by PRINTSCAPES.com/PACIFIC
STOCK. If you have already established representation elsewhere,
this point should be discussed prior to joining us.
Royalty Payments to You
When an image is licensed for use, the contributing
artist or photographer will get 15% of the license fee +
print price. If an image is licensed through one of our
North American or International Affiliates, you will receive
15% of the net amount collected by PRINTSCAPES.com, after
the International Affiliate Agency retains its portion of
the royalty. There may also be applicable withholding taxes,
currency conversion costs, etc. deducted from royalties.
Generally speaking, contributors who join an agency can
expect to see sales within 1 to 2 years after signing with
the agency. It has been shown that the amount of sales you
make correlates directly to the number of images submitted
and accepted into the files. Consider this partnership with
PRINTSCAPES.com/PACIFIC STOCK to be an investment which,
if you are dedicated and submit according to PRINTSCAPES.com
guidelines and wantlists, will pay off in the years to come.
Advertising & Marketing Efforts
- PRINTSCAPES.com is targeting the professional
design community as well as individual consumers. Our sales

to art buyers.
