What size are the prints?
We offer a variety print sizes to suit almost any wall space, from a small bedroom to a spacious hotel lobby. Each of our prints is sized based on the dimensions of the print alone without matting or framing. Be sure to consider the mat and frame widths to calculate the final dimensions. For example, and 8" x 12" print with a 2" mat and 1" frame (add 3 inches for each side = 6 inches total) would become a 14" x 18" final framed print. Also, keep in mind that sizes may very depending on the aspect ratios of each image. For example, one image may print as an 8" x 12" while another may print as a 9" x 12".
What kind of paper is used?
We use a heavy weight, neutral white Premium Archival Matte Paper engineered for accurate color reproduction that provides high contrast and crisp reproduction of high-resolution images. This acid-free paper is ideal for a variety of fine art applications with long-lasting archival quality. We also offer a variety of other paper styles for our pre-framed art and custom orders, which is described in the Fine Art Preview of each pre-framed piece.
What's A "Rabbet?"
The rabbet is the recess on the back inside edge of the frame, into which the artwork fits. On Printscapes.com, "rabbet size" refers to the depth of this recess. For most framing projects, any rabbet size is fine.
Metal Frames:
Most of our metal frames have enclosed rabbets (see diagram). When you're framing a very thick piece - like a stretched canvas - in a metal frame, be sure to choose one with a rabbet that will accommodate the thickness of the piece. Most wood frames have open rabbets, so they will work for almost any framing project.
What is a Giclee?
Our giclee prints (pronounced "gee-clay") are created from high-resolution digital images, using the best quality ink and paper stock available. This process results in color resolution that far exceeds any other type of image printing. The Giclee prints are generated on a pair of state of the art wide format ink jet printers. These printers are able to produce amazingly detailed prints of both works of fine art and photographs. For our printing jobs, we exclusively use archival quality pigmented inks. This guarantees you a long-lasting museum quality work of art.

We professionally frame, mat (if selected), and mount your image, allowing you to hang your art as soon as it arrives.

What types of glass do we offer?
All of our pre-framed art at Printscapes.com is framed using 1/8" clear acrylic Ultra Violet (U/V) resistant glass. We also offer regular glass, non-glare glass, Ultra Violet (UV) glass and combinations thereof. The type of glass to use depends on what type of artwork you have and the environment where it will be hung. For example, acrylic glass will cause minimal damage to artwork if the picture should ever fall. Artwork that will be exposed to a lot of sunlight or florescent lighting should be framed with Ultra Violet (UV) glass which helps reduce fading of the images. Artwork that gets a lot of overhead lighting exposure should be framed with non-glare Glass.
